A native of Parke County, Susie has always been interested in art.  She remembers creating pastel drawings on the courthouse lawn during the Covered Bridge Festival when she was in high school and the thrill of winning ribbons at the county fair.

As a high school artist, she won a Gold Key award in the national Scholastic Art Contest.  She attended Indiana University's John Herron School of Art and worked as a graphic artist for Meis Department Store in Terre Haute for years.

She enjoys working in oils and watercolors, and her favorite subjects are country roads, woods, and the effects of shadows and patterns of color placed by sunlight.

She has won an Honorable Mention at the Swope Art Gallery and Best of Show at the Covered Bridge Art Gallery Spring Show.
