Artist Bio
Steve was born and raised in
the heart of Indianapolis. Perhaps this is largely the reason that
at an early age he developed a love for the outdoors and nature. As
his interest in photography grew, the beauty and uniqueness of Parke
County became a perfect stage for many of his subjects. His focus is
not only the wildlife and countryside landscapes but includes the
historical covered bridges.
While employed by the
Indianapolis Fire Department, Steve divides his time between Indianapolis
and Parke County. His wife Cherri assists him with the photographing
and presentation of his work in matted and framed formats.
Steve has participated in
numerous shows and exhibitions at the national, state, and local levels.
He also has been recognized by the Indiana Historical Art Association and
Indiana State Fair. Several of his wildlife photographs have been
featured in Turkey Call, a publication for the National Wildlife
Turkey Federation. He received "Best of Show" in the 2002 Images of
Nature competition at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis.
Steve became a member of the
Covered Bridge Art Association in 2004. The majority of his work
represents Parke County and can be seen at the Covered Bridge Art Gallery
in Rockville, Indiana.
