Born
in Parke County, Nell Rose Brown moved away after high school graduation.
She later returned to her beloved Covered Bridge country.
As a child, she would draw cartoons and Parke County scenery. Even
then she showed a passion for pictures and old prints. She began
painting at 50 and has pursued her further development through workshops,
television art shows, and art books. Always motivated to try something
new, Nell states, "Practice is the key word ion art as it is in any
activity."
Nell prefers painting in oil and chooses subjects, such as animals,
people, and landscapes. The challenge of creating a winning
composition motivates her to enter art competitions. According to
Nell, "Win or not, art shows are always fun because art is fun!
