Millie's interest in art was triggered by an aunt that was an artist.  She studied for one year with Effie Henderson of Georgetown, Illinois, and has attended numerous workshops by professional artists.  She became a member of the Covered Bridge Art Association in 1969.

Landscapes dominate Millie's works, but she is interested in many subjects for her oil paintings.  Although she has exhibited throughout the Midwest for 25 years and has won many ribbons, she believes the greatest honor is when someone likes her work enough to purchase it.
