Artist Bio
Born in
Montezuma, Louise was one of the founders of the Covered Bridge Art
Association in 1964 and served as the group's first president.
Louise graduated from Indiana State University and taught elementary
school for 37 years.
After many years of wanting to learn to paint, Louise and a friend
started taking lessons from practicing artists. When the
Covered Bridge Festival started, she had an outlet to display and
sell her work. She and two other artists owned the Palette Art
Studio in Bridgeton, Indiana, for several years.
Over the years she continued to develop her skills by taking lessons
from Joe Trover, Firma Phillips, Ruth Davis, Robert McKoskey, Mary
Moscan, and others.
Louise has exhibited at art shows in Paris, Illinois, Clinton's
Little Italy Festival, Indianapolis, and Nashville, Indiana.
