June Wasson Deener was born
in Waveland and lived on a farm near Marshall, Indiana, for 36 years.
An artistic sister and daughter-in-law spurred June to take oil painting
lessons in 1973.
She works in other media, but oil remains her favorite. Her
paintings focus on rural landscapes containing barns, covered bridges, and
flowing waters in different seasons.
June's travels in the United States, Canada, and Mexico have provided many
visual inspirations for her art. She is currently painting some
childhood memories.
Having attended numerous workshops and seminars with other practicing
artists, June values the continued development of technique through
sharing with other artists.
She often exhibits at various festival events and fairs. She has
participated in 22 of the last 23 Maple Fairs and has traveled throughout
Indiana to exhibit in art shows.
